Erika Thompson, LCSW
Erika Thompson is an independently licensed Master Social Worker. She received her Masters of Social Work from Western Michigan University. In Michigan, Erika worked in Community Mental Health and for the State of Michigan. She is most interested in viewing client situations through the lens of God’s faithfulness and how it works hand-in-hand with evidenced-based therapies.
Erika is the wife of a retired United States Army service member who has experience and is familiar with the challenges that military families face while serving in the armed forces. She has also worked as a Career Counselor, for soldiers exiting service in the United States Army.
Erika is a strong believer in a client-centered approach, meeting them where they are, and utilizing various modalities to help them regain balance. Erika has worked at two Community Mental Health agencies (Michigan and Texas); a faith based private practice; a Treatment Foster Care agency; an in-patient mental health hospital; and a local mental health agency. She has over 25 years of experience with trauma; depression; anxiety; crisis management; career counseling; youth offenders; and other case management. Erika loves working with women and children to help them find understanding, support, connection and healing through life’s challenges.
In her free time, Erika enjoys hiking and camping. She has one adult child and a grand-pup; along with two dogs and a “dragon” (bearded dragon).
